On the morning of January 19, 2019, Rui L. Reis, Vice President of University of Mineo, Portugal and Foreign Academician of American Academy of Engineering, was appointed as Honorary Professor of Shanghai University and Honorary Director of Shanghai University Center for Accurate Tapering of Tumors in Conference Room 203 of the Administration Building. Vice President Wang Xiaofan, Director of International Cooperation Office Cui Wei, Director of Talent Office Zhang Jianhua, Professor Xu Jinlian from Shanghai University, Professor Chen Jie from School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, and Professor Wang Yanli, Director of Tumor Precision Targeting Research Center of Shanghai University attended the conference.

At the beginning of the conference, Professor Chen Jie from College of Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Engineering introduced the leaders and professors of the university. They warmly welcomed Prof. Rui L. Reis to Shanghai University. Wang Xiaofan presents the letter of appointment to Rui L. Reis as an honorary professor of Shanghai University. Professor Rui L. Reis said that he is very happy to be a member of Shanghai University and serve as the honorary director of the Center for Precision Targering Cancer Research at Shanghai University. He will spare no effort to work together with the director of the Center, Professor Wang Yanli, to build a world-class research center.

Mr. Cui, Director of the International Department, introduced in detail the opportunities and advantages of Shanghai University in international exchanges and cooperation, and listed the excellent cases of cooperation between our university and international schools. Professor Wang Yanli, Director of Tumor Precision Targeting Research Center of Shanghai University, introduced the establishment background and construction objectives of the research center. The establishment of the Tumor Targeting Research Center of Shanghai University has the opportunity of "favorable time, favorable place and harmonious relationship". To strengthen the construction of medical discipline in Shanghai University conforms to the development trend of Healthy China and Healthy Shanghai, conforms to the requirements of the new medical development marked by intelligent medicine, and also conforms to the needs of Shanghai University to strive for the world class.Adhering to the construction idea of "overall design, unit construction and module assembly", the Tumor Precision Targeting Research Center of Shanghai University is one of the important modules in the construction of medical discipline. Professor Wang Yanli said she would lead the team to complete the planning and construction goals of the center.

Prof. Rui L. Reis, President of the Portuguese Society for Stem Cell and Cell Therapeutics (SPCE-TC) and Director of the 3B Laboratory at the University of Minho, gave a detailed introduction of the laboratory and research work, and established a blueprint for the development of the Center for Precision Telling Cancer Research at Shanghai University. Then the development history and functional structure of the laboratory were introduced in the form of video.

Zhang Jianhua, Director of the Talent Office, introduced the policy of introducing high-end talents of Shanghai University, and fully expressed the support of Shanghai University for the cooperation with Professor Rui L. Reis in all aspects. Professor Chen Jie shared his experience in the maintenance of international exchange and cooperation relations with the public. He believed that this cooperation would greatly promote the establishment of world-class laboratories in Shanghai University. He hoped that through this cooperation, the international cooperation between Shanghai University and Shanghai University would be promoted. Professor Xu Jinlian gave some guiding suggestions on the construction and planning of the Tumor Research Center of Shanghai University based on the strategy of center first for the development of medical discipline. He hoped that the construction of the Tumor Research Center of Shanghai University could give full play to the role of various areas and promote the construction and development of the medical discipline of our university.

Wang Xiaofan said the university will fully support and strengthen international cooperation. The joining of Professor Rui L. Reis and her team is a great boost to the development of our medical discipline and the construction of the Tumor Precision Targeting Research Center. With the joint efforts of various parties, we will build an international joint research base and promote the Tumor Precision Targeting Research Center to become a world-class research center in the world.
