Prof. Yanli Wang, School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Shanghai University, was invited to publish the review paper titled " Tumor Targeting Strategies of Smart Fluorescent Nanoparticles and Their Application in Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment" in Advanced Materials (2019 Impact factor 23.77).

This review paper systematically summarizes the targeting mechanism of fluorescent targeting nanomaterials and their applications in cancer diagnosis and treatment. This paper focuses on the tumor targeting mechanism of fluorescent targeting nanomaterials and its application in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Three tumor targeting mechanisms, passive targeting, namely EPR effect, active targeting and tumor microenvironment targeting, as well as two or three combined multiple targeting research progress, are introduced. However, low targeting rate and poor biocompatibility are still the development bottleneck of this field. Therefore, it is a key scientific problem that needs to be solved urgently in this field to propose new targeting mechanisms. Yanli Wang professor team developed a tumor cell nucleus based on Graphene targeted fluorescent nano probe (Graphene - based tumor cell nuclear targeting fluorescent nanoprobe, GTTN), and presents a new tumor targeting, cell membrane permeability of targeting mechanism (CMPT), tumor targeting rate increase to more than 50% (related research has been published in the journal Advancecd Materials, DOI:10.1002 / adma. 201807456).In this review paper, the significance of the targeting mechanism of CMPT and the prospect of the clinical application of targeted nanofluorescent probes are discussed.
