The research group of Professor Yanli Wang from College of Environmental Chemistry has published a paper in Advanced Materials, an international top journal

Recently, Prof. Yanli Wang's research group from the School of Environmental Chemistry, Shanghai University published a research paper titled "A Highly Efficient Tumor-Targeting Nanoprobe with A Novel Cell Membrane Mechanism" in Advanced Materials (impact factor: 21.95). And was invited by the Editorial Department as Video Abstracts on the home page of the exhibition.Advanced Materials is a leading journal in the broad field of Materials and chemistry.In the field of international material scientific research community is renowned!The paper is a collaboration between Shanghai University, Shanghai Naval Medical University, Harvard University and the National University of Singapore, with Shanghai University as the primary communication institution.

Prof. Yanli Wang and his team report "a new type of highly effective fluorescent probe targeting tumor nucleus based on cell membrane permeability".Effective tumor targeting has long been a clinical challenge.Traditional targeting methods based on high permeability and retention effect (EPR) of solid tumors have a targeting rate of only about 5%.To solve this problem, a graphene-based tumor cell nuclear targeting fluorescent nanoprobe (GTTN) has been developed with a novel tumor targeting mechanism. GTTN is an amphiphilic fluorescent probe with graphene-single crystal structure.The probe has the characteristics of specific targeting of tumor cells. It directly passes through the tumor cell membrane and specifically targets the tumor cell nucleus through the permeability of tumor cell membrane higher than that of normal cell membrane.Professor Wang Yanli named this new targeting mechanism as Cell Membrane Permeability Targeting Mechanism (CMPT), which was very different from the EPR effect.These probes can identify tumor tissue at an early stage and track tumor cell invasion and metastasis at the single-cell level. More importantly, the tumor targeting rate increased from less than 5 percent to more than 50 percent.The realization of this efficient and accurate tumor cell nucleus targeting technology will accelerate the arrival of a new era of tumor diagnosis and treatment.The follow-up research and clinical transformation of this achievement will be continuously promoted in the process of strengthening the construction of medical discipline in Shanghai University, so as to build an international first-class platform for the integrated development of production, education, research and medicine, realize the efficient transformation of basic research, contribute to society and benefit mankind.
